Boyfy in Leeds

When the boyfy comes to visit Leeds I like to showcase the best this town has to offer. We started at Pickles and Potter in Headingley, an adorable cafe that makes THE best sandwiches.

Peri Chicken with Pesto Please

We followed our specialty sandwiches with what can only be described as Shake Heaven. A little shop by the name of Shakey Jakes put on offer hundreds of chocolate bars for us to put in a shake.

We chose:
1. Bounty and Kit Kat
2. Galaxy Caramel and Oreo

I've never been a huge milkshake fun but unfortunately I have been converted due to this visit. I did have a bad case of the guilts following this afternoon adventure.

By evening we were ready for a drink. We had a late dinner at Districkt, a tapas bar.

Dinner was then followed by cocktails at Smokestack which was followed by two drunkies making their way home to bed.

London Post Fam

The family left. It was a very cliché moment as the car drove away I burst into tears. The past two weeks with the fam was filled with so much fun, love and excitement. To cheer me up, Matt made us both get dressed up for a date night. We found a little Lebanese restaurant which we nicknamed Halal.

We had an absolute feast and a bottle of wine and found ourselves by the end of the dinner doing Cleopatra dance moves to the Lebanese music in the restaurant – such fun!

After a chilled Saturday, we planned for a sensational Sunday at London Fashion Weekend - London Fashion Week for the not so famous. I woke up excited much like a child on Christmas morning. The morning was beautiful with glistening sunshine so we got all dressed up for our day out.

When we arrived I was over excited, I just wanted to see everthing. We went to the 1:30pm fashion show which was amazing. They had two designers showcased along with highlights from London Fashion Week, I loved Bora Aksu's line.

The venue, Somerhouse was a beautiful building, it had four levels of rooms filled with designers showcasing their pieces. The staircase that led you to each level was used as a showpiece for a beautiful scarf installation as well as great artworks being showed on the walls of the building. Unfortunately some were last season, in mass production and dull, but there were so many designers with an inspiring Spring collection.

To end the day we spent some time at the Champagne bar where they had a DJ and small containers with olives on offer.

Once we emerged from the walls of Fashion Week we were met by a bleak and rainy evening. We powered home and after a nap needed a quiet dinner. There is something so comforting about putting on my boyfriends long sleeve shirt and tights after wearing a glitter jacket and heels all day. We found an Indian restaurant nearby and ordered dishes we have never tried before and danced to the Indian music in our own way.

River Thames Cruise

Our last day together. I felt overwhelmed from the exhaustion of such an amazing trip and of course the fact it was our last day hanging out together. We caught the tube to Westminster and hopped on the River Cruise.

We caught glimpses of many of London’s sights and bridges and had the sun shining down on our backs as we cruised along the Thames River.

London Bridge

London Eye

St Pauls Cathedral

Big Ben

We stepped off at the London Tower Bridge to look around and went to a pub for lunch.

Stories of Soho

Sardines squashed against each other, we pushed our way off the tube and onto Oxford St. We started with a coffee at Flat Planet, the free pizza samples on the counter reel me in every time.

We explored all the laneways surrounding Carnaby St, little boutique stores and quaint cafes.

Liberty's was a must visit. The modern yet traditional wooden structural design of the interior, filled with exquisite things ranging from designer jewellery, handbags, fashion, beauty products, chocolates - just everything.

The building is adorned with blooming flowers with a florist hiding away by the entrance doors.

For lunch we decided a good English pub was the way to go.  Some had pies with peas and mash, others had burgers with chips, all was delicious and hearty!

After our lunch mum and dad’s stamina had died a little whilst Em was only just getting started after a visit to Topshop. We decided to go home and I promised Emma a return trip. We got home to find our new maid, Fi, had been cleaning all day and preparing a delicious curry for our dinner.

After an amazing curry, we were all looking forward to the wildberry strudel that was in the oven. Matt and I felt it was our turn to contribute to the dinner so we offered to serve up, which ended with the strudel on the floor – disaster!

Harrods

After a busy past few weeks a relaxing stroll through Kensington was on the agenda.

We headed in the direction of Harrods which was a lot further than the map had shown us. After a 20-minute walk we arrived at the monstrosity of a building known as Harrods.

Past the heavy wooden doors were levels filled of designer clothes, shoes, home wares, basically anything you could need for a large price. We walked past Loubuton shoes, designer wedding dresses, the lot. It was until we reached the food section filled with a pizza and ice cream bar that we knew we had found what we wanted to spend our money on.

A 20 pound Harrods chocolate and strawberry meringue sundae!

A truly guilty indulgence.

Notting Hill

After a relaxing morning, eating breakfast and watching TV we put our layers on, pushed through the crowds on the tube and arrived in Notting Hill. Portobello Road is filled with tourists, wacky locals and pastel coloured apartments.

The stalls are small and jam packed with antiques, vintage clothing and fresh produce.

We had coffee and lunch and Mum bought me some soups to supply me with emergency food for Leeds.

The orange vdub filled with pizza

This is where I will live one day. A fuchsia door surrounded by a cream exterior, framed with a pink cherry blossom tree on the sidewalk. Such beauty.
