Last day in Edinburgh

Our final day in Edinburgh. So much more that we wanted to see and do. We forced ourselves to wake up before 9am and scoff down some scones to give us ample time at Edinburgh Castle.

After hiking up a steep and sudden staircase we finally made it to the castle. It boasted beautiful views of the city.

Once allowed inside the castle grounds, we were surrounded by weathered brick buildings with a flat roof that looked very much like story-filled POW dungeons.

Hours were spent at the castle, immersed in Scotland's rivalled history with England. After a while we felt weary and needed some food. Unfortunately we didn't have the stamina to go any further than a burger joint.

We ran out of time with the wonderful city of Edinburgh and scooted to the train. It was probs for the best, not long and we were snoring!
